You can try AgentSoul without uploading a single screenshot of your own. On the Flash Forge screenshot screen, tap “No chat screenshots to hand? Try it with sample chats”, then “Start reading”. The app runs a complete reading on fictional example chats and shows you a real result: a soul name, a sigil, three soul traits and the four agent files.
It is the gentlest way to see what the app does before you decide which of your own conversations, if any, you want to share.
Where to find the sample chats
- Open AgentSoul and tap “Start forging”.
- Choose Flash Forge.
- If this is your first forge, read the consent screen and tap “Agree and continue”.
- On the screen titled “Pick the chats that sound most like you”, tap the line “No chat screenshots to hand? Try it with sample chats”.
- A note confirms “Sample chats loaded (fictional)”. Tap “Start reading”.
The sample set follows the language you are using the app in. With the app in English you get English sample chats; switch to Chinese in Settings and you get Chinese ones.
The sample chats are short, everyday conversations written for the demo. They are deliberately ordinary, the kind of messages anyone might send, so the result gives a fair impression of what a real reading looks like.
What you will see
From here the experience is identical to a real Flash Forge. The reading screen moves through its four stages, the sigil appears, and the reveal shows a name for the soul under the label “Flash Forge”. Like every Flash Forge result, it has no Enneagram type number. Tap “Get the four files” to preview soul.md, identity.md, user.md and agents.md, copy them, or try “Send to computer” to practise the AirDrop, Files or Mail step.
Treat it as a guided tour. The voice in the files belongs to the fictional writer of the sample chats, not to you, so it is a useful preview of the format rather than a soul to keep.
Look closely at soul.md in particular. Its core values, vibe and rules show you the level of detail your own soul will have, and it is a good moment to decide which agent harness you will put the files into once you forge for real.
What to look at in the sample result
A sample run is most useful if you read it with a few questions in mind. It previews the shape of every Flash Forge result:
- The soul name at the top, and the label “Flash Forge” where a Gao Dao result would show a type number. Flash Forge reads style; it does not assign an Enneagram type.
- The three traits. Voice describes how the agent should sound, Pushback how it should disagree, and Priority what it puts first. Ask yourself how your own versions would differ.
- soul.md, which holds the agent’s nature, core values, vibe, rules and unknowns.
- user.md and agents.md, which describe who the agent serves and the steps it follows, including when to hand a decision back to a human.
If the format suits the way you work, you know a real forge will be worth the few minutes it takes to choose screenshots.
Why the consent screen still appears
The sample chats are images, and they are read the same way your screenshots would be: sent to Google’s Gemini API, which writes the reading. The consent screen therefore applies to them as well. Because the chats are fictional, nothing personal is involved, which makes a sample run a low-stakes way to see the consent flow and the reading together.
Good reasons to start with samples
- You want to see the four files before deciding whether AgentSoul fits your agent setup.
- You are showing the app to a friend, a class or a team without exposing anyone’s chats.
- You are curious how the reading describes voice, pushback and priorities.
- Your chats are mostly voice messages or stickers and you want to see what a readable screenshot looks like.
Moving on to your own soul
When you are ready, start a new forge and choose your own screenshots: three to ten, clearly legible, mostly your own messages, from a few different situations. Or skip screenshots altogether and choose Gao Dao, the mentor conversation in Chinese, which builds your soul from questions about real moments in your life instead of chat history.
Whichever path you choose, you end with four Markdown files that you can place in Claude Code, OpenClaw, Cursor, Hermes or another agent harness. Gao Dao adds an Enneagram type hypothesis, a wing and an in-depth report; Flash Forge gives you a named soul and its traits.
Questions
Is the sample result my personality?
No. It reflects the fictional people in the sample chats. It shows you what a result looks like, what the four files contain, and how to send them to a computer.
Do I still need to agree to the consent screen?
Yes. The consent screen covers the sample chats too, because they are read by Google Gemini in exactly the same way as your own screenshots would be.
Can I use the sample files in a real agent?
You can, as a starting template. Most people get more value from forging with their own chats, then editing the files by hand where needed.
