Flash Forge turns 3 to 10 screenshots of your own chats into a named agent soul and four agent files, usually in 30 to 120 seconds. It reads your style rather than assigning an Enneagram type number. You choose the screenshots with the iPhone photo picker, agree once to send them to Google Gemini, and the app forges the result while the images themselves are discarded straight after reading.
It is the fastest of the two forges in AgentSoul, tagged “Fastest” on the forge screen, and it is the natural first try for anyone who already writes a lot in chat.
Stage 1: choose the forge and consent
From the welcome screen, tap “Start forging”, then “Start with Flash Forge”. The first time you do this, a consent screen titled “Your content will be sent to Google’s AI” appears. It lists, in plain terms, what is sent (the screenshots you choose, including any names and text visible in them), who receives it (Google, through its Gemini API), what it is used for (only your reading and four files, never advertising) and what is kept (the reading, not the screenshots).
Nothing is uploaded until you tap “Agree and continue”. If you tap “No thanks, go back”, you return to the forge screen with nothing sent.
Stage 2: pick your screenshots
The screen asks you to “Pick the chats that sound most like you”. Tap “Choose screenshots” and the native photo picker opens. Select between three and ten images. A counter shows how many you have chosen and how many more you need, and you can remove any thumbnail or tap “Add more”.
Before upload, each screenshot is resized on the iPhone. That keeps the upload small and fast on mobile data, and means the original full-resolution image never leaves your phone.
If you change your mind about a screenshot, tap its remove button before you start. Once the reading begins, the selection is fixed for that forge; to use a different set, simply start a new Flash Forge afterwards.
Stage 3: the reading
Tap “Start reading”. The screen changes to “Reading your tone” and shows four steps as they complete:
- Read your screenshots: the AI extracts the conversation text.
- Pick up your rhythm and word choice: sentence length, directness, humour, and how you open or close a message.
- Infer motives, fears and desires: what you seem to protect, pursue and avoid, and what that means for how an agent should work with you.
- Forge the four files: soul.md, identity.md, user.md and agents.md are written from that profile.
A card offers to send one notification when your soul is ready. It is the only time the app asks for notification permission, and only because you tapped. If you decline, the screen simply keeps checking for you.
Stage 4: the reveal and the files
The reveal is labelled “Flash Forge · 闪电熔铸” rather than a type number. It shows a name for your soul, a sigil and three soul traits: Voice, Pushback and Priority. These come from signals in your chats such as tone, clarity, pacing and how you handle conflict. If you also want an Enneagram type and wing, try a Gao Dao conversation. Tap “Get the four files” to preview each file, copy its contents, or tap “Send to computer” to share all four through AirDrop, Save to Files or Mail. The soul also appears in My souls on this iPhone.
Privacy and limits in plain terms
- Your screenshots are processed in memory and are not stored by AgentSoul. The reading and files are stored, linked to an anonymous device ID rather than an account.
- Google processes the content on AgentSoul’s behalf under its Gemini API and data processing terms.
- You can withdraw AI consent in Settings and delete all data linked to your device with “Delete my data”.
- There is a daily reading limit per device. Occasionally Flash Forge may pause for the day and resume at 00:00 UTC.
If a reading fails, for example because the text in the screenshots was unreadable or the analysis timed out, nothing about the screenshots is kept. Tap “Choose screenshots again” and try a clearer set.
Questions
Does the app see my whole photo library?
No. Flash Forge uses the native iPhone photo picker, so the app only receives the screenshots you actively select.
Why at least three screenshots?
One chat can catch you on an unusual day. Three or more give the AI enough of your ordinary voice to infer a pattern rather than a mood.
Can I redo a Flash Forge?
Yes. Start a new forge from My souls with a different set of screenshots, within the daily limit. Each forge is saved as its own soul.
