You can use Gao Dao 高导 to forge a gentle, encouraging study companion for your child. Choose Child’s study buddy (孩子的学习伙伴) before the conversation starts, answer Gao Dao’s questions yourself, and you will receive four agent files you can then adapt for your child. The AgentSoul app is rated 13+, so this is a guide for parents: you run the forge, you set the rules, and you decide how the result is used.
Why the parent runs the conversation
Gao Dao is a mentor conversation about real moments in someone’s life, and it reads the person who is talking. When you choose Child’s study buddy, that person is you. Gao Dao asks about the moments that shape how you teach and encourage: helping with homework at the end of a long day, a test result that worried you, the times you held back and let your child struggle a little. The reading reflects your instincts as a parent, and the agent guidance is steered toward a patient learning companion.
This is deliberate. A study buddy works best when it sounds like an extension of the household’s own values, not a stranger with different ideas about effort, praise and mistakes.
Step by step
- Open the AgentSoul app, tap Start forging and choose Gao Dao.
- Read and accept the AI consent screen if it is your first time. Your conversation text is sent to Google Gemini to produce the reading.
- Choose Child’s study buddy, then Start the conversation.
- Answer up to 12 questions in Chinese, by typing or holding to talk. Speak about your own experiences rather than private details about your child.
- Read your result and the free 高导深度报告, especially the AI agent collaboration guide.
- Tap Get the four files and send them to your computer with AirDrop, Files or email.
Adapting the files for your child
The files are plain Markdown, so you can edit them in any text editor. A few changes make the difference between a general companion and one that fits your child.
- soul.md: keep the warmth and patience; add rules such as “Praise effort and strategy, not just correct answers” and “Never shame a mistake.”
- user.md: describe who the agent serves in general terms, such as age range, school stage, subjects and what helps them focus. Use a nickname, not a full name, and leave out the school, address and photos.
- agents.md: set the working method in steps, for example “Ask what they already know, give a hint, then a bigger hint, and only then walk through the answer.”
- agents.md escalation: say clearly when to stop and involve a parent, such as signs of distress, questions about safety, or requests to bypass homework rules.
- identity.md: give the companion a friendly display name your child will enjoy.
Choosing where it runs
AgentSoul makes the character, not the classroom. To use the study buddy, you load the files into an AI assistant or agent tool of your choice, for example by pasting the key parts into a chat assistant’s custom instructions or project. Each of those services has its own age requirements and parental controls, so read them before your child uses it, and stay nearby for the first few sessions to see how it behaves.
A few honest cautions
- The result is an AI-generated type hypothesis about you, not an assessment of your child.
- An AI study buddy can be wrong. Teach your child to check important answers and to ask you when something feels off.
- Keep identifying details out of the files and the Gao Dao conversation.
- If a Gao Dao conversation touches on crisis topics, Gao Dao pauses and points to free helplines; the same care is worth building into your study buddy’s escalation rules.
Done thoughtfully, the result is a small, steady companion that explains things one more time without sighing, celebrates effort, and knows when to hand back to you.
Questions
Can my child use the AgentSoul app directly?
The app is rated 13+. For younger children, the parent should run the forge and decide how, and whether, the resulting agent is used.
Whose personality does the study buddy reflect?
Gao Dao reads the person in the conversation, which is you. The Child’s study buddy choice steers the questions and advice toward a learning companion, and you then tailor the files to your child.
Where does the study buddy actually run?
AgentSoul produces configuration files, not a tutor app. You load them into an AI assistant or agent harness of your choice, so check that tool’s own age rules and parental controls.
